About Me
I’m Katie, a disabled pageant girl and disability advocate from Lincoln, UK. Since 2018, I’ve been competing in beauty pageants, which has both challenged me to confront my insecurities, but also to embrace and celebrate them.
Living with a disability has taught me so much — resilience, determination, and the importance of self-love. I created the ‘Beauty and the Unbroken’ campaign to inspire and be a pillar for those who might feel like they are held back by the things that make them different, or who don’t feel confident in being who they are.
My mission is to show that you don’t have to fit in to be successful. Success for people like us is about breaking barriers, owning our stories, and being proud of standing out.
Beyond the sparkles of the pageant world, I recently completed my master’s degree in creative writing. I love reading and storytelling, exploring new ideas, and crafting a narrative around them. One day, I hope to share my voice with the world, not only as a disability advocate, but as a best-selling author!
